"It's all done in fits and starts quite literally!”
Annette is a self taught abstract artist whose chosen medium is acrylics, although some of her work is mixed media. Although each piece is different as they reflect different moments in time, they are all open and honest. It is a vivid exploration of her emotions and experiences, offering viewers a cathartic release of negativity, just as each piece afforded her in their creation.
Annette’s artwork reflects her quest to understand the neurological condition she has grappled with since childhood. Through her art Annette hopes to inspire others living with disabilities, and raise awareness about neurological conditions. She is committed to this cause, donating 20% to The National Brain Appeal to support epilepsy research.
Her paintings have been featured in several art publications, multiple joint exhibitions, as well as a small solo exhibition in her hometown. Recently her art was exhibited and sold at Sotheby’s in London as part of their 'Art & Neurodiversity' exhibit, benefitting 2 charities.
Overcoming her health boundaries she has taken part in two London Art Fairs, Roy’s and Parallax (at Bargehouse and Chelsea Town Hall respectively) making sales at both. Currently Annette is working on a commission for a close friend hoping that it won’t be her last painting as she is awaiting brain surgery to ease her nightly seizures.
